NAD Enhances Its Best-Selling Digital Amplifier

D 3020 V2 Delivers Advanced Digital and Analog Engineering for Less.

CES Las Vegas, NV, January 9, 2018 — NAD Electronics, a leading manufacturer of premium home audio and video products, announced a new and improved Digital Amplifier, the D 3020 V2, as well as a lower price. The company’s best-selling amplifier was updated with cosmetic refinements and by popular request, the addition of Moving Magnet phono inputs. Drawing on their decades of analogue know-how, NAD engineers designed the phono stage for the highest possible performance, featuring accurate RIAA equalization, ultra-low noise and an infrasonic warp filter. The D 3020 V2 is available for immediate delivery at $399 U.S. MSRP, $100 lower than its predecessor.

Originally introduced in 2013, the D 3020 represented a bold step forward in digital music reproduction and the D 3020 V2 takes that even further. The D 3020 V2 accommodates inputs for your computer along with other digital and analogue sources, including the newly added MM phono input. Coaxial and optical inputs allow many different digital sources to be connected, from CD and DVD disc players to set-top boxes like Apple TV or satellite and cable receivers. There are also analogue inputs for iPods and older non-digital audio components such as FM tuners.

New to the D 3020 V2 is also a full-range preamp output for added connection flexibility. NAD also includes a premium quality headphone amplifier output that includes a high-quality volume control.

Beyond impressive performance, a major focus for NAD has been finding new technology that can improve musical performance while consuming less power to operate and using fewer non-renewable resources to manufacture. The D 3020 V2 is compact, environmentally sensitive and runs cool. NAD believes this combination of technical prowess and eco-friendliness is the best of both worlds.

The D 3020 V2, with its wireless Bluetooth capability, can stream music from smartphones, tablets and laptops and even supports the highest audio quality Bluetooth codec, aptX, that is becoming more and more popular for its excellent sound quality and low power consumption compared to Wi-Fi.

Power output may sound modest at 30 watts per channel yet like all NAD amplifiers this can be very misleading as a properly designed 30W amplifier can often sound much bigger than similarly-priced competitors with a higher-advertised output. More importantly, the D 3020 V2 can drive real loudspeakers to satisfying levels without adding noise or distortion. Its highly efficient design wastes less energy, resulting in extended component life and increased reliability. Standby power consumption is <0.5W.

Supplied with an IR Remote Control for convenience, the D 3020 V2 is equally at home on a desktop, a bookshelf or cabinet to complement any lifestyle.

“Beginning with the legendary 3020 amplifier nearly forty years ago, and then more recently, the D 3020, NAD has created many of the most memorable and highly reviewed audio products of all time,” commented Greg Stidsen, NAD’s Chief Technology Officer. “Refusing to rest on our laurels, we listened to the market and improved on a best seller, with the D 3020 V2, which now appeals to an even wider audience and represents an even greater value.”

The NAD D 3020 V2 will be on display with other NAD products at CES 2018 in the Lenbrook Suite 29-236 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas from Jan. 9-11, 2018. It will be joined there by sister brands PSB Speakers and Bluesound with Lenbrook personnel on hand to demonstrate the company’s premium products and answer any questions.
