NAD Electronics Digs Into Its Museum Collection for Rocky Mountain Audio Fest

NAD Vintage Listening Sessions

Celebrating its 45th anniversary, NAD is demonstrating its legendary 3020 amplifier as part of series of global events called the Vintage Listening Sessions.

Rocky Mountain Audio Fest, Denver CO, October 5, 2017 NAD Electronics, a leading manufacturer of premium home audio and video products, continues its 45th Anniversary celebrations at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest (RMAF) in Denver, Colorado, October 6-8, 2017, with a vintage audio demonstration featuring its legendary 3020 Integrated Amplifier and its newly launched budget-friendly NAD C 328 HybridDigital Integrated Amplifier. The demonstrations will be presented in Room 8021 of the Denver Marriott Tech Center, alongside other newly launched and current products from NAD Electronics and its sister brands PSB Speakers and Bluesound.

The vintage demonstrations at RMAF are part of the Vintage Listening Sessions, where key products from NAD’s rich history are being sent on a global tour to bring vintage listening experiences to new audiences. The list of vintage products on tour includes some of the company’s earliest and most iconic products like the 3020 Integrated Amplifier from 1978, recognized as the best selling hi-fi amplifier in history; the popular 7175 PE Receiver; the historical Model 60 Receiver from 1975; and a 202 Turntable from the early 1980s. So far, Vintage Listening Sessions have been confirmed in USA, Canada, Czech Republic, Austria, and Slovakia, with others expected in 2018. Information about current and future confirmed event dates and locations can be found at nadelectronics.com/vintagesessions.

“We know that many audiophiles have a soft spot for NAD since they likely owned an NAD product at some point along their audiophile journey,” says June Ip, Vice President of Marketing for NAD Electronics. “Bringing the Vintage Listening Sessions to a consumer hi-fi show like RMAF therefore seemed like a natural fit. Plus, we thought it would be a fun way to remind our fans of some of the happy memories they had with our products, but also experience side-by-side just how far audio technology has come along since we started our own journey as a brand.”

Started in 1972 by a group of hi-fi distributors and led by Marty Borish on the commercial side and Bjorn-Erik Edvardsen on the technical side, NAD quickly became known for its clever and affordable amplifier designs that rivalled some of the most expensive systems of the time in sound quality. As NAD grew over the decades, the same commitment to technological innovation, simplicity of operation and unparalleled value for money prevailed. Today, these values are evident in NAD’s Classic Series HybridDigital Integrated Amplifiers with the C 328 representing the entry-level, the C 338 with Chromecast built-in and the BluOS Ready C 368 occupying the middle of the range, and the BluOS Ready C 388 at the top of the range.

“HybridDigital is our unique circuitry design, which delivers excellent precision and clarity with natural ease,” says Greg Stidsen, Director of Technology and Product Planning at NAD. “It’s really innovative technology to offer at a starting MSRP of $549 USD. To compare, the 3020 with Edvardsen’s ground breaking circuitry, debuted in 1978 at an MSRP of $149 USD, which when adjusted for inflation comes to $565 USD. I don’t think there are many other brands that have remained true to their values like this for over four decades, and it’s part of what we want to celebrate with our Vintage Listening Sessions.”

NAD will be exhibiting at the RMAF in Denver, Colorado October 6-8. Along with sister brands PSB Speakers and Bluesound, NAD can be found in Room 8021 in the Tower and in A03 of the Atrium section of CanJam.
