NAD and Bluesound Expands BluOS CI Integrations

ISE 2017, Amsterdam, NL February 6, 2017 — BluOS, the high-resolution distributed audio platform shared by Bluesound and NAD Electronics, has further expanded its list of supported CI control systems. Already integrated with Control4 and RTI, BluOS drivers are now also available for Crestron SIMPL and PUSH, and a new beta driver for URC is expected in the spring.

The Control4 driver was recently updated with the release of version 2.6, adding new features like auto on/off, mini driver support, keypad connections and event programming. It also improved the Spotify experience and cleaned up some minor bugs. The newest RTI driver, which was just announced in January, features a host of two-way commands, including automatic detection of players, metadata retrieval, music player controls, among other features. Meanwhile, the upcoming URC beta driver will feature numerous one-directional commands.

All five of the drivers have proven to be highly stable over time, and the BluOS team continues to look for further enhancements within the capabilities of the respective platforms to accommodate BluOS’s unique hi-res distributed audio protocols.

“We are committed to defining the future of hi-fi in a connected home,” says Greg Stidsen, Director of Technology and Product Planning for Lenbrook International, parent company for NAD Electronics and Bluesound. “Complete interoperability across all the leading control systems will be key for us moving forward.”

Along with the announcement at CEDIA 2016 of a number of new BluOS Enabled products for NAD’s Custom Install line, today’s news reinforces NAD Custom Install as the only audiophile quality distributed audio system that has professional integrators in mind. The drivers work with all BluOS Enabled devices to allow smart homes access to High Resolution Audio, Master Quality Authenticated (MQA), numerous music streaming services, including some niche high-resolution services, together with NAD’s legendary high fidelity performance.
