NAD C 368 Dubbed ‘Hybrid Heaven’ in Hi-Fi World Review

NAD C 368 and turntable

Following his positive review of the NAD M32 and NAD M50.2, Hi-Fi World’s Martin Pipe has turned his attention to one of NAD’s new Classic Series amplifiers, the NAD C 368. In his review of the C 368 Hybrid Digital DAC amplifier, Pipe states that although the unit may not look as striking as other NAD products, it still delivers a clear and correct performance.

Outfitted with NAD’s innovative music management system, BluOS®, Pipe quickly discovered how richly versatile the C 368 is. With access to a plethora of music streaming services, as well as having the ability to play MQA, hi-res, FLAC, WAV, and CD-quality files, Pipe concluded that the C 368 would greatly benefit users when enabled with BluOS.

Testing the overall performance of the unit, Pipe looked first to Edward Elgar’s “Enigma Variations.” Composed between 1898 and 1899, Pipe found that the C 368 provided more than enough room for the woodwinds and brasses to breathe. Moving on to Mark Beazley’s 2010 album Stateless, Pipe writes that the C 368 helped bring forth the melancholic atmosphere of the tracks.

Pipe concludes his review by stating that when it comes to the C 368, “NAD has gone for a sound and features that will appeal to most audiophiles.”
