Company Information

Who is NAD?

In 1972, a group of European audio importers became frustrated with the technical hype and overstated specifications of Japanese made HiFi products. This group of audio enthusiast hired American audio executives Martin L. Borish and Bjorn Erik Edvardsen to head up a new kind of HiFi company. Studying the market and experimenting with various designs, Borish and Edvardsen believed NAD could make an affordable, state-of-the-art amplifier that focused on four core principles: innovation, performance, value and simplicity. Their small team set to work, obsessively refining electronic designs, searching for that one design that would change everything. Many tens of prototypes later, Edvardsen had created the world’s best-selling hi-fi amplifier in history, the NAD 3020, and launched the NAD brand into audiophile prominence.

Today, NAD is still driven by the same founding principles and mission to deliver true-to-source sound to discerning listeners. Headquartered near Toronto, Canada, NAD employs a team of audio engineers and enthusiasts that carry forward the legacy that Borish and Edvardsen dreamed of. Sold in over 80 countries around the world, NAD is a dedicated audio company, forever pushing the boundaries for a better listening experience that is accessible to as many people as possible.
