I went from the separates (c275bee/c165bee) to the c375bee. I wanted to simplify my setup and didn't need some of the features offered by the c165. I also wanted the ability to switch between two pairs of speakers (as I have recently acquired a pair of NHT absolute zeros along with my NHT classic 3's) and the c375bee offered me that option. Performance wise I don't hear a dropoff between the separates and the integrated. I would imagine that the differences are measurable and the c165 has a superior head phone output and a very nice phono input but those I do not use. That being said paired with my NHT set up (classic 3's, absolute zeros, and B-10d sub) I get sublime sound at a reasonable price. Folks don't be afraid to try the c375bee based upon the price or the perceived place NAD has in the audio world. The unit is fantastic and has the flexibility to offer the user room to grow.
