I bought this unit to replace an older 13 year old unit from another manufacturer that had become unreliable. I listen mostly to classical music and clarity and uniformity were my priorities in selecting a new unit. My other electronics are NAD so this was a good place to start. I am more than pleased, the clarity and musicality are outstanding, a big improvement. And also, to my surprise, the bass is much tighter and cleaner as well. That old Stokowski recording of Shostokovich's 11th just rumbles like never before. I have not tried the upconversion or filter options much as yet. Old Columbia's are actually worse when upconverted, more screechy than before. Hope you find this interesting.
