Bought the NAD356BEE a week ago, having compared it to a Marantz PM7004 and Cambridge Audio 740. Both of these were good products, with vocals on the Marantz very nice and detail levels and treble in the CA top notch. However, the NAD just won me over with the warmth of the sound, power, excellent bass and timing. A key feature for me was the depth and detail at lower volumes, important when you have a young child at home! In summary, I am very pleased with my purchase, and it is a significant improvement in sound quality over by Denon 1908 AV receiver. It even looks good, in my opinion, clean and functional, compared to the competition. It would be even better with a Power Amp direct/bypass feature to make connection to pre-outs on an AV receiver even easier (CA and Marantz have these). In summary, I would recommend this amp highly.
