User Review: C 316BEE Stereo Integrated Amplifier - Introduction to high end sound

Products: C 316BEE Stereo Integrated Amplifier

Several months ago, I purchased some Grado headphones for my iPod (all files are Apple Lossless) and was blown away by the sound....rich midrange, silky highs, tight bass. I decided to strive for the same sound when playing back my computer music files. It began with an old AV receiver I had lying around and some new PSB bookshelf speakers. The PSB's were clear and revealing, but also revealed the grainy and bright quality of my ancient receiver. After reading many reviews, I settled on the C315BEE and started shopping (ended up with the C316BEE instead). WOW!!! Those little PSB's now play with plenty of slam, smooth highs, and awesome dynamics even at lower volumes with the tone controls switched off. I was dialing up the bass knob and turning the treble way down on my old receiver just to get sound I could be in the same room with. Not anymore. The C316BEE is even better than I imagined.
