User Review: PP-3 Digital Phono Preamplifier - Just the job for vinyl heads

Products: PP-3 Digital Phono Preamplifier
Excellent piece of kit. Much smaller than the pictures suggest. Worked straight out of the box, after I had sorted out a few "sound card" issues in the PC. The accompanying software, VinylStudio, looks primitive, but works fine. Just check that you have the latest version. Even the NAD site isn't as up to date as it could be. Get the software to check for itself. Check the VinylStudio Help forum if you have problems. http://www.alpinesoft.co.uk/ That is also a bit amateurish. (GMail users are excluded.) But they do respond. On the hardware, the manual is on the box! Download an image PDF (why not text?) version from NAD. http://nadelectronics.com/img/manual/NAD-pp3.pdf Pity they hid the turntable/tape switches on the back. But you wouldn't know that because there are no rear view pictures that I could find. In all, though, I don't know why it took me so long to track this down and buy it.Michael Kenward - Sussex
