User Review: T 775 A/V Surround Sound Receiver - new technology meets signature NAD sound

January 8, 2008

Products: T 775 A/V Surround Sound Receiver

I had a wonderful sounding pre/pro (B&K Reference 30) and separate amps, but the system was getting a bit long in the tooth and it was time for an upgrade. New HDMI features promised easier setup and organization of components, and so I set out to find devices that support them. Having enjoyed a 214 stereo amp for several years, my first choice was NAD. The NAD T775 lives up to expectations, and then some! The sound is signature NAD, which to me means power with room to spare and a buttery smoothness not found in most other consumer electronics. Connections via HDMI allow me to enjoy the latest hi-def multichannel audio recordings and greatly simplifies the connections in my equipment rack. A wonderful surprise was the inclusion of Audyssey room calibration software. I was very impressed with how it improved the soundstage and imaging in my theater. Lastly, setup was quite easy: the manual is written in plain language and the user interface is very intuitive. I am truly impressed!
