User Review: D 7050 Direct Digital Network Amplifier - Digital music at its best

February 9, 2014

Products: D 7050 Direct Digital Network Amplifier

I chose the NAD D 7050 after testing it against a Linn Majik DSM and a Naim SuperUniti. While the Linn sound was too "flat" and the Naim sound was too "full" the D 7050 is both - full and crystal clear with the Audio Physic speakers I am using. I connect an Apple Mac Mini via USB to the D 7050. This allows me to use the Apple remote app to play music. I find it the best app for playing and searching music. To hear radio I use the iPad TuneIn app and the airplay function of the D 7050. As there is no direct source selection on the NAD remote I use a Logitech harmony to switch between different activities (watch tv, hear music, hear radio). The D 7050 supports IR remote codes to select the input directly.
