There is no doubt in my mind that under the cold, understated exterior of this monolith lies a lot of technology and blood sweat and tears. While this is clearly a sophisticated piece of technology it is also forgiving of my mistakes and flexible enough to let me try different configurations and get it right -- eventually. I am using this Receiver to switch between my 2 HDMI sources that include a TIVO, a blu ray player, and Analog sources such as a NAD BPEE 565 CD player, and an ipod dock. My speakers are two triton twos from Golden Ear. Thanks to my NAD CD player and 757 I am listening to my classical music CDs once again after buying hundreds of them in the 80s -- the golden age of digital recording in my view. I later stopped listening because the systems I had were not good enough -- I was simply not getting what I wanted out of my music. TV signal, Tivo recordings, DVDs, and blu ray never looked better. The setup was a bit difficult due to the setup menus looking like ATARI (This issue I see is fixed in the 747s), but once you get the hang of it, it all makes sense and becomes second nature. I think an audiophile will find plenty of freedom to tweak their setup and experiment while an every day user can just plug and play without having to worry too much about detailed settings. This is why I adore 757, because, it is forgiving, flexible, excellent quality in terms of the sound it produces, the way it behaves, how cool it stays, and how well it is built (like a tank). It is well worth every penny I spent on it.
