I crossed the quality/convenience line a few years ago, bought an upper-mid Swiss Army Knife AVR. Features were fun for a while, till reality set in and it was clear that I was just getting very average sound from more sources. Not the best trade-off. The T787 is at the opposite end of the spectrum. 56 pounds of muscle and refinement as the heart of my system. I have this paired with NAD C565BEE, Oppo 93 BR, Sony HX929 LED and Marantz NA7004. Everything is doing what it does best, not shoving a lot of toys in one box at the expense of quality. And the T787 makes everything around it better. The T787 is the best piece of audio equipment I have ever owned. Period.
