EISA Award - C 315BEE Integrated Amplifier
September 11, 2008
Well known for its giant-killing integrated amplifiers, NAD has refined this art to a new level in its C 315BEE Integrated Amplifier. Like the legendary 3020 that started the story decades ago, the new C 315BEE Integrated Amplifier combines an unexpectedly high power output with a range of genuinely useful facilities. The ability of this little amplifier to drive difficult speaker loads should not be underestimated. Meanwhile, its slim case supports six inputs, a front-mounted socket for portable players and an output for headphones, plus integrated tone and remote control. The C 315BEE Integrated Amplifier may appear unassuming, but its musical impact is unashamedly spectacular.
EISA from the beginning
EISA is the unique association of 50 special interest magazines from 19 European countries. Internationally known for the European EISA Awards, EISA started in 1982 when the editors-in-chief from five European photo magazines came together to select "The Camera of the Year" for the first time. They had no idea that out of this meeting EISA—the European Imaging and Sound Association—would emerge some years later. This historic moment took place in 1989 after another 10 photo magazines had joined the group in the meanwhile.
Later on another two panels where developed inside EISA, the Video Panel and the Audio Panel. Following the natural evolution from pure audio to multichannel entertainment this latest panel gave origin later on to the Audio/HT Panel. It was only several years later, in 2002, that the joining together of several magazines from EISA that were making coverage of the Mobile Electronics area and several other magazines belonging to the then extinguished ECAP association gave origin to the In-Car Electronics Panel.
This year the existing Convergence Panel was renamed as Mobile Devices Panel to give an effective answer to more and more products that belong to the areas of audio, video and mobile at the same time. And here we are now—50 magazines from 19 different European countries joined together forming the worlds most prestigious multimedia magazine association.
In June each year, the editors-in-chief from all EISA member magazines meet to decide which of products analyzed in their publications during the past year deserve the coveted EISA Award. The six categories under consideration are: Audio, Video, Home Theater, Photography, In-Car Electronics and Mobile Devices.
