Many budget-minded audiophiles wonder if a $300 or $500 NAD cd player sounds better than a $100 Sony player. I wondered if they did, so I took a chance and purchased a C515BEE, NAD's new CD player. Does it sound better than my $90 Sony cheapie? When the unit came my girlfriend and I were both skeptical. Then we hooked it up and started playing some music. First of all, it plays CD-Rs beautifully. It plays CDs wonderfully. What do I mean by wonderful? When strings are plucked you can hear every string. Backup vocals are clean, you can separate the vocalists. Vocals are warm and the overall sound is not fatiguing, even at loud volume. The soundstage is better than a $90 Sony player bigger, wider and deeper. Almost surround sound in scope. It makes the music sound better whether you're sitting in front of the speakers or in another room. It's a very simple player to hook up and use. I haven't tried it with MP3s, but it is compatible with these computer files, which a lot of high end players can't do. All in all, not only am I pleased, but an totally convinced that you get what you pay for. There is better digital sound out there. When I consider how much time I spend listening to music, $300 for a CD player is very reasonable. Thank NAD for not charging much more for this player. In fact, I'm so impressed by the performance of this CD player that I may just buy a reference model at some point.

I have had several NAD products, all purchased used: an NAD amplifier (35 watts) cannot recall the model #, a T-750 and now just today (June 5, 2009) a 7600 receiver. This receiver is phenomenal. I have auditioned a T-765 being deeply discounted by a local NAD dealer however it was still not within my budget. I was not happy with the T-750 however I now realize it is purely a lack of power issue. This 7600 is amazing and I have no intention of selling it. Ever.

Own and still use a NAD series 20 Amp. Bought in Holland, but moved with me to NYC. I have it on a transformer and it works great with a set of Totem speakers.

During The Wall Street, Tony Montana 80's I found my inner audiophile. NAD was there. It started with 2-2200's, 1155, 2-5355's, 2pr.-ADS L980's on roller stands. Split the 1155 output and maually worked the players and preamp. "Digital Dynamics The Ultimate Music For Any Occasion Exclusively On Compact Disc" was born. That was 1986. Now 23yrs later. Those same 2200's and a mixer have been running a pr. of TOA 380SE's in the studio, bridged since '87. AMAZING! Another 2200 and a 1600 run a pr. of ADS L1290/2's down. A 2700 and a 1600 run a pr. of KEF 104/2's up. Everything bought new in the late 80's and working/looking like new. Old school for sure. But hey, if it works why fix it? My buddy still has those 980's and runs them on 2200's too.

Hi there,
Signed the book before after the purchase of my NAD 350 Amp and 540 CD Player. Recently bought the 765 AV Receiver and T535 universal player. I still need to be convinced that there is ANYTHING better than NAD.
Regards.

I am a NAD addicted fan. Since 1992 I had upgrade through several NAD products, T743 av amp & T514 dvd player, then a T763 av amp with a CA dvd player. I have recently decided to go the separets route and purchased a T163 av pre-amp processor to be used with a South African produced "Valve Audio" 5ch (200w/ch) power amp. My next step is to replace the CA dvd player wit a Nad T585 dvd player. As Matt from the UK said "..nothing ever seems as musical and completely satisfying as NAD".
