NAD's Position on Environmental Sustainability

At NAD Electronics, we strive to make the world a more enjoyable place through great sound and great music. We also believe we can achieve this by embracing environmentally friendly initiatives and making changes that matter.

NAD is committed to designing products that decrease our use of energy. By providing more energy efficient products, we help you save energy at home, while also reducing our collective consumption.

  • All NAD products featuring a Standby mode consume less than 1W (several are even better at <0.5W).
  • By 2013, all NAD products will consume less than 0.5W standby power.
  • NAD’s exclusive patented PowerDrive™ circuit, available in most of our power amplifiers, optimises dynamic power while maintaining low continuous power consumption.
  • Our ultra-efficient direct digital amplifier technology (found in the Masters Series M2) ushers in a new era of lower energy consumption alternatives.

NAD considers the environmental impact of the manufacturing of our product. By minimising harmful processes and materials, we ensure that what is better for the environment is also better for your home.

  • All NAD products manufactured since 2005 do not contain lead or any other heavy metals deemed harmful to the environment.
  • All NAD products are constructed without hazardous materials.
  • NAD’s innovative Modular Design Construction (MDC) product line is designed to reduce manufacturing waste and packaging, reduce material consumption, cut down on transportation emissions, and provide a reusable, sustainable product.

NAD is dedicated to practicing the Three R’s of being green. By embracing these principles, we aim to create less waste in the world and less waste in your home.

  • We use recyclable product cartons with minimal ink coverage.
  • We minimise the size and amount of packaging required, thereby reducing transportation emissions.
  • We are dedicated to further reducing our product packaging and employing more recyclable packing materials.
  • NAD’s MDC products are an outstanding example of product reuse and waste reduction.

NAD aims to reduce the destruction of the world’s forests by reducing our use of virgin stock. By committing to this small act, we help protect endangered forests, conserve energy, and reduce wastewater.

  • All NAD brochures and catalogues printed since 2009 use papers certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), an organization that supports environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests.
  • We ensure that each printer or print broker we engage is also FSC Certified.
  • We reduce paper consumption by doing away with printed owner’s manuals and data sheets.
  • We reduce our transportation emissions by sourcing readily available FSC Certified papers from mills closer to our printers.
